What has rabbits and eggs got to do with Easter?

In Christian faith it was said that Jesus’ friend, Mary Magdalene was on her way to visit Jesus’ tomb with some freshly cooked eggs to share with other women that where visiting his tomb. She saw that Christ has risen and the eggs in her basket suddenly turned blood red. The egg is the symbol of the boulder of the tomb of Jesus.
Now traditionally Chocolate Easter Eggs are given and received during the Easter/Spring period to represent the Tomb.

A pre-Christian story of what eggs and bunnies have to do with Easter comes from the old traditions of the Pagans, the pagans say that rabbits are fertility symbols which are important to their Goddess, ‘Eostara’, which is where the word Easter comes from.
Because rabbits can reproduce so fast it makes rabbits a perfect symbol of fertility and eggs; “from the egg comes life”.

Easter Chocolate figures

More and more children have decided to replace the traditional chocolate Easter egg for another chocolate figure. Because of that, bakers have taken good note of that and offer a great range of different delicious Easter desserts.

However, parents will always buy one traditional egg at least. Nowadays, we have the opportunity to buy our dessert with a great variety of chocolate flavours:  white, milk, dark or including pink chocolate are the most famous.
